Post Messages

The left side of the Message Board Form lets you post the information you wish to convey to other members of the congregation

The Password authorizes posting messages to the bulletin board, the Name of the person posting the message, the Subject of the message to be posted, and the Message itself are all mandatory entries.

Attempting to post a message without specifying all four of the above fields will activate a form prompting for the missing field's data. The Name and Subject must be plain test. The Message can be in plain text, or if you prefer it can be in Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML)code.

The remaining entries E-mail , Site URL/Site Title, and Image URL are optional. A brief description of their function follows:
E-mail: Use this field if you wish an e-mail response to your posted message. Simply enter your e-mail address.
Site URL: Use this field in conjunction with Site Title if you want other members of the congregation to visit a particular web site. Simply enter the full URL for the web site.

Site Title: Use this field in conjunction with Site URL if you entered a Site URL. Simply enter a brief description of the subject of the web site referenced by the Site URL.

Image URL: Use this field if you wish to display an image with your posting. Simply entry the full URL of the image you want to display.

Note: URL (Universal Resource Locator) entries Site and Image, require the full web address. However, the prefixed http:// is optional. If the associated title for a Site URL is not specified, the Site URL will be ignored.

At the bottom of the Message Board Form are two command buttons associated with Posting Messages:Post Message and Reset

Click on the command Post Message to have your message placed on the Message Board or Click on the command Reset to erase your entry and start over.

Clicking Post Message will display a window informing you that your message has been added to the Message Board. At this point you have the option of viewing your information as other users will see it or returning to the web page that linked to the Message Board. Viewing the information as other users will see it also gives you the option of posting a follow-up message should you feel a need to do so.

Posted Messages

The right side of the Message Board window lets you select and read any of the listed Posted Messages. Double clicking on the underlined subject will display a window with all the information pertinent to that subject. At that point you have the option of adding a follow-up message to that subject. Entry of a follow-up message must be done in the window displaying the original or subsequent follow-up message. The procedure for entering a follow-up message is the same as that listed above under Post Messages.

*Posting Authorization

Unfortunately there are many evil people who take delight in posting despicable information on church bulletin boards. Left unprotected the bulletin board would soon be overrun with obscene messages, links to pornographic sites, as well as pornographic pictures. To eliminate this problem the Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC) in Scottsboro, Alabama requires entry of a password before posting is permitted.

If you would like access to posting on the TLC web site, send us an email specifying your name, email address, and the name of the organization to which you belong. You can send the email via the following link:
